PocketWizard Plus IIIe Transceiver (Black)
There are 80 Long Range Quad-Zone LR channels and 32 Quad-Zone E channels in the PocketWizard Plus IIIe's total of 112 channels. When performing numerous setups, this not only eliminates interference but also enables you to activate flashes in 4 distinct zones (A, B, C, and D). The suitable transmitter or receiver mode for the arrangement is automatically chosen by auto-sensing. You can activate a remote camera and remote flashes by combining auto-sensing and auto-relay mode. When you partially push the test button, Two-Stage Triggering technology awakens and focuses your camera; when you fully press the button, it fires. The Plus IIIe's increased wireless range allows shooting from distances up to 5 miles, compared to the original Plus III's famed 1600' triggering range!
The Plus IIIe and Plus IVe are interchangeable right out of the box, which is good news for photographers. But, "non-e" Plus IVs and Plus IIIs can be updated by PocketWizard for a modest fee. The upgrade is free if you bought "non-e" versions on or after 9/1/2019.
Possibility of Long Range
In ideal circumstances, this transceiver can transmit and receive a signal up to five miles distant, whereas the earlier Plus III's range was just 1600' eleventy-two channels.
The PocketWizard Plus IIIe Transceiver's 112 channels let you turn on specific lights, groups of lights, or both simultaneously and separately. This is essential while working in crowded spaces or with various lighting configurations.
Quad-Zone Triggering
Up to 4 working zones can be set up for remote control of flashes. This gives you the option to remotely turn on and off your flashes, allowing you to stay in the shooting position without having to manually modify lighting arrangements. This is perfect for using various lighting configurations and controlling remote cameras as necessary.
Auto-Sensing Transceiver
The Plus IIIe Transceiver's proprietary Auto-Sensing Transceiver technology allows it to be configured to independently transmit (Tx) or receive (Rx) when necessary.
Auto-Relay Mode
The transceiver affixed to the camera may instantaneously receive a signal from an auxiliary transceiver and then transmit the transmission to a remote flash using three PocketWizard radios with Auto-Sensing technology.
High Speed Capability
This transceiver can trigger cameras or flashes up to 14.5 frames per second when it is in High Speed Receiving mode.
Remote Camera Triggering in Two Stages
For remote camera triggering, the Plus IIIe Transceiver is ideal. The Plus IIIe's unique two-stage TEST button functions exactly like your camera's shutter release button. Your remote camera awakens to meter and focus when you press it halfway. To take your picture, fully press the TEST button. Your remote camera will generally resume sleeping after being released, thereby conserving battery life.
Simple User Interface and Design
All of the channels, zones, and modes may be set with a soft-touch keyboard, and they are all clearly shown on a 1" / 2.5cm backlit LCD. A side-view LCD is also incorporated into the transceiver's design for simpler viewing.
